My first art commission

For nearly three years, I created paintings driven by emotion, exhibited them, and sold them. During that time, I never really considered offering commissioned works. It wasn’t until September 2025, when I was asked whether I would be open to creating a specific piece for a family, and I agreed, surprised and happy, that commissions became part of my artistic journey.

After a conversation with the clients, I created several sketches with different designs, from which they could choose their favorite elements. After a few revisions and new ideas, we ultimately agreed on a design for a 60 × 120 cm canvas. It would become the largest painting I had created up to that point.

Thus began a very exciting drawing process, during which I learned what it truly meant to paint for someone else rather than for myself. Often, I had to set my own opinions aside and consider what would suit their home, instead of simply following my intuition. It was a very enriching time and brought me great joy. Painting a piece feels entirely different when you know it already has a home where it will be appreciated and admired.
I am very satisfied with my first art commission and am already looking forward to the next project.
